Marina Barrage: Rooftop Park

Marina Barrage is a multi-purpose attraction in Singapore. Although its main function serves as a dam – aiding water storage and flood control for the whole of Singapore – most visitors know Marina Barrage because of its rooftop park.
The park with a green grass floor is a place of recreation, proving especially popular for picnics as well as dates!  It is a perfect place for kite flying as it is located right next to the sea which makes it the windiest spot. If you don’t have a kite, you can purchase one easily from the shop downstairs.
Plan your arrival at evening time (when the day’s heat has subsided a little) to see the stunning sunset view. At this place, you also have the chance to glance at other popular visitors’ attractions such as the Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest, Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore Flyer, and the CBD’s skyscrapers at one go.

Dialogue in the Dark Singapore

What if you had to go through your daily routine without seeing anything?

Dialogue in the Dark (DiD) is one of the world’s most exciting life-changing experiences where visitors are guided by blind guides in absolute darkness. DiD is an international enterprise, it has been represented in more than 41 countries. DiD Singapore puts visitors in everyday situations – except in complete darkness. Simple things like crossing the street or visiting a hawker centre suddenly become extraordinary challenges. Visitors must navigate within the exhibition area in the dark, with the help of guides who are blind. Daily routines become exciting and a reversal of role is created where the sighted become blind and the blind becomes sighted. This is a fresh kind of experiential learning, very hands-on and thought-provoking. Christmas Village at Orchard Road

Christmas is around the corner and has you thought of where to go during the Christmas festivities? If no, then maybe you can check out the Christmas Village along Orchard Road. This is the first Christmas village complete with a festive fare in Singapore. It was launched with pyrotechnics, a light show and a rousing performance from local singer Alex Chia. And to top it off, fireworks crackled and lit up the night sky.

Christmas village will feature a double-decker carousel, as well as participating stores of more than 25 brands, including Starbucks, Toast Box, PAUL and Royal Selangor just to name a few. Three amusement rides, craft activities and a roaming balloon sculptor will add to the fanfare. Even Santa himself will also drop by for the photo takings.
The Christmas village entrance is free, it is located at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza and will be opened from Nov 25 to Christmas Day, from 11 am to 10 pm on Sundays to Thursdays and 11 am to 11 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and during the Christmas week.
From 8 pm onwards on Christmas Eve, local bands will perform the Christmas classics ahead of a pyrotechnics show at midnight.
