Satay by the Bay

Satay by the Bay

Satay originated on the Indonesian island of Java. It is available almost anywhere in Indonesia. It is also popular in other Southeast Asian countries like in Singapore. Satay is one of the most loved local delights in Singapore. Hence, it’s only fitting that there’s a food court in the middle of Gardens by the Bay housing several satay stalls in one place. A 10 minute walk from the two domed conservatories in the Gardens by the Bay, patrons can find eight outdoor push carts selling sticks of satay, with low wooden tables and stools for diners. Satay by the Bay, modelled after the Satay Club of the 80s and 90s, is the latest destination for a casual get together with your family and friends.

This is great for tourists who want to taste different cuisines that Singapore offers. For less than $5 you can have a feast of Satay here with astonishing view of the Marina Bay Sands and enjoy the breeze of sea air. The meats were well marinated and nicely grilled with bits of burnt parts. Both the beef and chicken are tender and flavourful. The gravy provided by Power Satay was unusual but tasty. It had a reddish colour and had chunky peanuts in the gravy. Satay by the Bay offers much more than just satay. In fact, a wide variety of Singapore street food can be found there. Fried kway teow, carrot cake, laksa, roti prata, hokkien mee, BBQ chicken wings and nasi briyani are available. There are also stalls selling pizzas, Thai food, Turkish fare and Mediterranean dishes.
