Helmed by three young hawkerpreneurs, this Muslim-owned stall in Golden Mile Food Centre offers a sizeable range of affordable gourmet halal burgers. For quite some time now Golden Mile Food Center is a tulang and lamb chop kind of hawker centre so it’s a great surprise that it’s also now home to affordable gourmet quality burgers. These satisfying and affordable burgers come with prices ranging from $4.50 to $6.50 per burger.

Every ingredient that made up this burger was up to the point; the grilled beef was juicy and had a char that’s reminiscent of the meatiest burgers, the scrambled eggs were smooth and soft and the brioche buns were toasted to a light crisp round the edges. Right here, you are getting better quality burgers at about the same prices with those burgers that are available at the fast food joints. So, which is a better choice?

All burgers come with fries (top up $1 for onion rings), and is guaranteed to fill you up despite its deceptively small appearance. But, I always say good fries don’t need a burger, and Burgs serve some unique ones too so of course I had to try them as well. Dining in a group? Share their signature Honey Soy Fried Chicken Wings ($4.90 for six) which reminded us of the Korean fried chicken glazed in honey soy sauce and topped with spring onions and sesame seeds. Bang for your buck? I think so.
