Mr. Yun Weilong, President of Singapore China Baijiu Association, Featured in 35th Anniversary Special Edition of China-ASEAN Report

Recently, a media team from UD Media, represented by Feng Chen (left in Photo 1) and Zhang Jingzhi (right in Photo 1), visited Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd to conduct an exclusive interview with Mr. Yun Weilong, President of the Singapore China Baijiu Association and Chairman of the company, as part of the China-ASEAN Report’s 35th Anniversary Special Edition commemorating China-Singapore diplomatic ties.

In honor of the 35th anniversary of China-Singapore diplomatic relations, the discussion focused on the development prospects of Chinese Baijiu in Singapore and Southeast Asia, cultural promotion, and the broader context of China-Singapore economic and trade cooperation.

As early as 2004, Mr. Yun introduced Kweichow Moutai to Singapore at a time when Western spirits dominated the market and Baijiu was relatively unknown locally. Despite many initial challenges, he did not prioritize profits, but instead focused on promoting Baijiu culture, eventually founding the Singapore China Baijiu Association.

Nearly two decades of dedication have led to a growing recognition of Baijiu, which now stands as a key symbol of Chinese culture abroad and a cultural bridge fostering closer people-to-people ties between China and Singapore.

Mr. Yun expressed his commitment to organizing more cultural events in the future to deepen appreciation for Chinese Baijiu and further expand its presence in Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region.
