Kweichow Moutai Mid-Autumn Celebrations

To celebrate this year’s Autumn Festival, a dance & song variety show aptly named – the Kweichow Moutai Mid-Autumn Celebrations, was held at the Club De Zara on 27 September, located in Textile Centre at Jalan Sultan Road.

It was organized by the Singapore Moutai Baijiu Pte Ltd and in line with the company’s mission to develop the China baijiu culture in Singapore, many more of such Moutai variety shows will be organized at different night entertainment outlets, on a monthly basis.

The unique and innovative Kweichow Moutai Mid- Autumn Celebrations has created a distinct buzz in the entertainment industry. Hundreds of guests and visitors made prior reservations for the limited seats at the Club De Zara and even on the night itself, hundreds of guests had to watch the performances standing. The performers staged a marvelous well-choreographed variety show. There were excellent modern and classical dance & song gigs, games such as identifying the Moutai baijiu from several glasses of other baijiu and many other games with mysterious gifts.

The atmosphere in Club De Zara was so warm & special that even the performers claimed that it was the first time that they had such an experience in their years in Club De Zara. Some of the interviewed guests said that this event was great and welcomed more of such initiatives. For that particular evening, they felt that it had provided more choices to on how to spend the traditional Mid-Autumn celebrations. And a guest from China was so happy that he could drink Moutai baijiu to celebrate Mid-autumn while being out of China.

The slogan for the night was – “ I love Moutai, Moutai loves me “. The Singapore Moutai Baijiu Pte Ltd hope that with China national liquor brand Moutai leading the way, the China baijiu culture will soon become a part of the Singapore way of life.

2012 Elite Bartenders Course

The 2012 Elite Bartenders Course is a special annual occasion organized by the Association for Bartenders and Sommeliers (Singapore). Supported and respected by many distinguished hotels, restaurants, distributors and Singapore Hotels Association, this year event is even more unique compared to the previous years because a new segment was introduced. The popular various Chinese baijiu from China were included. Officially known to be the spokesman for China baijiu in Singapore, Mr. Charles Oon was invited to introduce the exclusive China baijiu to the participants in this year 2012 Elite Bartenders Course.

The teams from Singapore Moutai Baijiu Pte Ltd and Oasis Global Pte Ltd also participated and gave presentations of the various China baijiu. It gives all the international bartenders an opportunity to understand the characteristics of the various China baijiu and hopefully also inspires creative cocktail ideas as well.

Asia Pacific Bartender of the Year Cocktail Competition

The Asia Pacific Bartender of the Year Cocktail Competition, held by Association for Bartenders and Sommeliers (Singapore), ended on Wednesday, 1st August 2012 at the Furama RiverFront Hotel. This competition have two categories which includes the ” Creative Cocktail ” and ” Flairing Bartending Skills”. The contestants are from Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Korea , Bulgaria, Italy and 14 other countries.

Mr. Hsu Po-sheng from Taiwan appeared in a Spiderman costume and brought us a cocktail named ” Golden Year ” which was a blend of gin, vermouth and citrus. He won the ” Flairing Bartending Skills” with his marvelous skill and creative idea. A female bartender from Japan won the top place of “Creative Cocktail”.

Singapore Moutai Baijiu Pte Ltd also attended the banquet dinner where the CEO Mr. Charles Oon had further conversations with the international bartenders about the Moutai baijiu and even cheered for them during the competition. After the awarding ceremony, we toasted glass with Moutai baijiu which stands for congratulations and success to the winning bartenders and further shared with them the unique after taste of Moutai baijiu.
