The 4th “Chan Soo Sen Cup” Racial Harmony Day Graphic Xiangqi Tournament

On August 3, 2024, the 4th “Chan Soo Sen Cup” Racial Harmony Day Graphic Xiangqi Tournament, sponsored by the Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd and organized by the Singapore Xiangqi General Association and the Tung Ann District Guild, was held in the auditorium of the Tung Ann District Guild. The event brought together Xiangqi enthusiasts and professional players from various regions to compete and exchange skills.

The players were full of enthusiasm, and the atmosphere in the competition hall was tense yet friendly. On the scene, the players were deeply focused, with every move carefully considered. Amidst the intense battles, the players demonstrated exceptional chess skills and remarkable mental fortitude. Each clever layout and intricate trap kept the audience on the edge of their seats. On the chessboard, red and black pieces alternated, with the momentum shifting constantly between offense and defense. Some players found opportunities in dire situations to turn the tables, while others advanced steadily, step by step, toward victory.

After several rounds of intense competition, the champions, runners-up, and third-place winners were finally determined. Zhang Zhongyi emerged as the champion and also won the Non-Chinese Open Group Award. Wu Deshun received the Senior Award, while Wang Kaili won the U12 Girls’ Award.

The cup sponsor Chan Soo Sen, event sponsor Charles Oon, and association president Lin Guan Hao personally attended the event to present the awards. In his speech, President Lin Guan Hao stated, “Without the generous sponsorship from Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd, it would have been challenging to organize this event.”
