53% Feitian Moutai Tasting Event

Hosted by Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd, the “Moutai Elegance – A Dragon Boat Festival Tasting” featuring Feitian Moutai was successfully held recently at Candlenut, Singapore’s Michelin one-star Peranakan restaurant. Taking inspiration from traditional Chinese festivals, the event combined the refined culture of premium Baijiu with the tropical ambiance of Southeast Asia, creating an elegant and culturally rich tasting experience with oriental charm.

That evening, Feitian Moutai took center stage, accompanied by a showcase of various Moutai series products, including Moutai Boutique, Moutai 15-Year, Moutai 30-Year, and Moutai 50-Year editions. Additionally, the recently popular innovation, “Huang Xiaoxi,” was on display, along with the brand mascot “Little Mao,” whose adorable presence enhanced a uniquely styled cultural exhibition area that attracted guests to take photos and share their experiences. Reception staff dressed in traditional Guizhou ethnic attire warmly welcomed guests, adding to the strong Chinese cultural atmosphere.

During the tasting, Mr David Oon, General Manager of Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd, gave an in-depth presentation on the brewing techniques, brand history, and cultural significance of Feitian Moutai. He detailed Moutai’s unique production process, highlighting key steps such as “Qu making during Dragon Boat Festival, grain fermentation in Double Ninth Festival, nine times steaming, eight fermentations, and seven extractions.” He also shared practical tips on how to distinguish genuine Moutai, which sparked great interest and lively interaction among the guests.

The atmosphere was both warm and lively. Guests actively exchanged views during the tasting, discussing flavor profiles, brewing knowledge, and the collectible value of Moutai, which further deepened their appreciation and interest in Chinese Baijiu culture.

The evening also featured a specially curated Peranakan-inspired menu, blending Malay spices with Chinese culinary techniques. Dishes included Boston Lobster Salad, Peranakan Fish Maw Soup, Blue Crab Curry Noodles, Braised Pork with Buah Keluak and Butterfly Blue Pea Coconut Rice, all ending with a Moutai Sorbet.

This event not only showcased the artistry of Moutai’s craftsmanship but also highlighted the cultural value of Chinese Baijiu on the international stage. As more such tasting events are held, Singapore is increasingly becoming an important gateway connecting Chinese Baijiu to the global market.

Moutai is not just a national liquor; it is an oriental expression that carries deep cultural memories. Moving forward, Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd will continue to promote Chinese Baijiu culture in Singapore, fostering East-West exchange and presenting the unique charm of Chinese Baijiu on the world stage.
