Like every year, the 2016 World Baijiu Day will be held on August 8, just a day before the 9 August Singapore National Day. The goal of this celebratory day is to raise people’s awareness of Chinese Baijiu. It is a strong aromatic and powerful alcohol that ranks top in China and is amongst the most consumed spirits in the world. But however it is less known outside of China borders.
The baijiu aroma and flavor have been described as everything from fig, soy sauce to pineapples, musk and even gasoline and earning itself the nickname “firewater.” Not many people enjoy consuming shots of any hard liquor or spirit drink, whether it is vodka, cognac, whiskey, gin or baijiu, especially when the alcohol level reaches 50% and above which accidentally is the signatory characteristic of china baijiu. The aim of having this Baijiu Day is to make baijiu more accessible by using it for easy drinks such as cocktails, infusions and even with foods so that everyone is able to enjoy the taste of baijiu all over the world.
